Edmonton Foot Care Academy
We have the honour and distinction of being the first Foot Care Academy in Alberta approved by the CLHA Council.
Our team includes former VON Nurses, experienced Educators, and dedicated Community Partners. Together, we bring decades of hands‑on experience in foot care and education. We proudly deliver the Gold Standard in Foot Care Education through our comprehensive Advanced Foot Care Management Program, with teaching contracts throughout Alberta.
We understand how busy life can be and how challenging continued education may feel. That’s why we offer flexible training options to support every learner.
Advanced Foot Care Management Program (80 Hours) is open to all LPN/RN and NP
This course includes:
-Basic Foot Care
-Demonstration and use of specialty foot care tools
-Anatomy & Physiology
-Common Foot Disorders
-The Impact of COVID‑19 on Foot Health
-Foot Care for High‑Risk Clients, including Diabetics
-Advanced Foot Care Techniques
-Hands‑on experience with padding and advanced tools
-Education and guidance for building an Independent Practice
Two learning pathways are available:
Classroom-Led - A one‑week, instructor‑led, face‑to‑face course ending with a 2 day Practicum available, in both Edmonton and Calgary.
Offering Dates
October 26th-30th - Edmonton
Online Learning - Open registration; start anytime and learn at your own pace. This option also concludes a 2 day In‑Person Practicum in Edmonton or Calgary.
Program Admission Requirements
-Active licence in the province where you practice
-Licence must be in good standing
Basic Foot Care Program (8 hours) is Open to All
This one‑day, classroom‑led course includes theory instruction and concludes with an in‑person practicum offered in both Edmonton and Calgary. This course includes:
-Basic Foot Care
-Demonstration and use of specialty foot care tools
-Anatomy & Physiology
-Client Education

Foot Care Refresher Course
Designed for Nurses who have previously completed Advanced Foot Care training and hold a certificate but: Have been away from the field, or want additional hands‑on practice before returning to or starting foot care work.
This refresher will focus on practical skill rebuilding, confidence, and updated best practices.

We are preparing a series of specialized online workshops designed to support ongoing professional development in foot care. Release dates will be announced shortly - stay tuned!

LPNs cannot have Foot Care added to their licence or apply for tuition reimbursement unless the program is CLHA‑approved.
